Another two pager

I got another two page layout done.  This is 6 of my 8 grandkids on their first day of school.  My other two grandsons were on my previous post. :)

Then I decided to get messy again and play in my art journal book.  Okay, okay, I wouldn't exactly call it "ART" but it is messy, ha ha.  Had fun doing this page.  Stole this picture off of facebook when our daughter used it for her profile picture.  Sneaky sneaky.

Been Awhile

Well, since my last post I have gotten four layouts done and here they are:

I tried to do "something new" on each layout.  Not new to scrapbooking or anything like that, just something I haven't done before.  This first one I made those little pink and blue flower thingys.  Saw them on the CTMH cricut cartridge and thought I would have a go at them.

On this layout I didn't use my cricut at all (or any thickers).  No actual "big" title, just a few stickers here and there.

I used the CTMH cricut artbooking cartridge and cut EVERYTHING on this page.

On this last one I can't believe I got 12 pictures on a two page layout.  Pretty good huh?

Fourth of July!!

Okay, okay, I know it is almost Christmas but in my scrappy world I am just getting around to scrapping pictures from the 4th of July!!  Had a hard time making this layout, I just didn't think the photos really went together because some are during the day (light) and some are at night (really dark) but did it anyway!

and a few cards I made from the scraps:

Christmas

I really should be making Christmas Cards....but instead made a Christmas decoration.  Used a bunch of stuff from the Frosted Designs Mixed Media Kit, some stamps I colored in from CTMH, paper, molding paste, crystal glitter and a few other things from my stash and ta dah:

and of course, a close up so you can see all the goupy dimension I tried to add.  Pretty sure this one will take FOREVER to dry, lol.

Dream

Since it has been forever since I have had a monthly kit come to my door I decided to sign up for the kits over at Frosted Designs.  I love the way they put their kits together and their Mixed Media kits are the coolest ever.  With that in mind, I wanted to share this mini canvas I created using one of their kits and some bits and pieces from my stash:

Frosted Designs is also currently running a challenge on their blog http://frosteddesigns.blogspot.com/2013/11/friday-challenge-11-item-challenge.html
which I will enter this in.  (You should go check it out!)  I used flowers, buttons, a tag and some paper layering.

New Layout and a place to get messy!!!

Hi all, today I am sharing a layout and the first two pages in an art journal I started.

First, the layout.  This is my Nephew Eric at work.  Pretty simple but I like the way it turned out.  I have to say I am in love with those little bows (see them at the tops of the four tags?).  They were cut on my cricut from the CTMH cartridge.  I just discovered them and I see alot more uses for them in my future.  :)

I have come to the conclusion that sometimes I like to go to my scrap room and just play.  I love to get messy with mists, paints, gesso, stencils, ink and whatever else I can find but I don't like how scrapbook pages turn out with all the stuff on them so I decided to use an art journal.  Somewhere where I can see how things work, what happens when I mix things up, etc. and then put it all away and go back to my very clean scrapping style, ha ha.  So, with all that said, here are two pages from my Art journal I thought I would share.  (Remember, I warned you....they are a MESS)

More gold and a two pager!

I have two more layouts to share with you.  This first one I really wanted to use gold to match the Bieber poster in the picture but decided a whole sheet of gold cardstock was just a little too much gold so I went with white cardstock and gold accents...EVERYWHERE.  :)

And then there is this two page layout I finished.  Again...I struggled with this one but all in all I think it turned out pretty good.  Looking back at it now I wish I would have inked the edges of the cut squares between the pictures.

Two more done

I usually don't post layouts in the middle of the week but my friend Tara posted something on Facebook about struggling to use arrows on a page and also a link to a layout that was done with all kinds of arrows all over it.  I challenged her to make one and then thought wellllllll, maybe if I made one and tell her it is her turn now she just might do it.  :)

This next one just happens to be another layout I got done so far this week so figured I might as well share it too.  Not sure if I like it or not but couldn't think of anything to do to make it to my liking so I am considering it done and moving on!

Share Time

Ever since me and Mom went to the Scrapbook Expo I have definately been in the mood to scrapbook.  Wish we could do that together more often!  Anyhow, I have four layouts to share this week.

This first one is my Mom's family reunion we went to earlier this year.  It was a very long drive for a few hours of catching up with everybody but we had a good time.  I can't remember the last time I used gold on a layout but I really like how this turned out.  I used gold glitter thickers for the title, sparkly gold sticky tape down the edges and even broke out my gold paint pen to use on the banner and small touches on the camera die cut.

My Sister in Law Robin, myself and my Mom at the family reunion.  I think this might be the only picture I have of the three of us and again...can't remember the last time I used pastel pinks or blues on a layout.  (Haven't had a new baby in the family since the last Grandson was born 5 years ago!)  Got to use flowers too!!

As mentioned above, our Grandson Matthew on his 5th Birthday.  I struggled with this one, I am finding it hard to come up with birthday layouts lately for some reason.

Loving this last one which I just did this morning.  Couldn't find any paper I liked to go with this layout so I found the background paper then a few small pieces of the red star paper.  The rest was done with washi tape.  I used it around the edges of the background paper, the red chevron touches here and there and the red polka dot on the chipboard banner pieces to make them match.

This week's layout share

Well, it has been a little over a week since my Mom and I got back from the Scrapbook Expo and this is what I have gotten done.  Still have some of the Expo mojo going so I decided I better keep scrappin before I loose it, ha ha.

This first one is of some cupcakes I made from some friends of our Son for a party they were having.  Love those little pinwheel folded thingys but always forget to use them.  I finally remembered and made them to match this page.

This next one is the boys (my hubby included) hanging out on some furniture we were about to get rid of so they decided to use it as patio furniture until then.

Meet Adolf.  He is our youngest son, ha ha.  More spoiled than any of the kids ever dreamed of being!!

From the leftovers of the "Adolf" layout I made these cards.  Practicing with my copic markers on this CTMH flower stamp.

And the last one is two our our Grandsons playing in their front yard.  I didn't like how this one was turning out until it was finished and then I realized the finished product was better than I hoped for.  I really struggle with two pagers!

Expo Layouts

My Mom and I spent 3 days (Thurs afternoon, Fri and Sat) at the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA.  What a great weekend we had.  We look forward to spending this time together scrapbooking every year with no interruptions of daily life, just me and her shopping, scrapping, eating, laughing and talking.  This was our 7th year attending.  Although we pack a TON of stuff to take with us for scrapping (we attend all three night crops till midnight), I only have three completed layouts to share.  (In my defense, Thursday evening was spent creating make-n-takes and Friday we worked on mini books)

Okay, enough about that, here are the layouts I completed.

Lifted Layout and a card

While checking out the Frosted Designs blog I spotted a layout I just loved by Lori Apgar which you can see here:  http://frosteddesigns.blogspot.com/2013/09/mom-arrazi.html
I just knew I had to lift her layout....so I did!!  Not sure where she got all the bits she used on her layout but I did ALL of them on my Cricut.  What you think?

And with the scraps is my attempt at a couple of manly birthday cards.

Bunch of Cards and a Couple of Layouts

Guess What??  I finally did what I said I was going to do for a few years now...everytime I finish a layout I take whatever is left on my scrappy desk and try to make a few cards.  I have made five different sets and they are all completely different styles....kind of like my scrapbooking, ha ha

Not much to say about these except for I used popdots on every single card somehow because I just think they make the cards stand out a little more.  I also used my sizzix for embossing on the anniversary cards and after getting some advice from the girls over at OSU, it worked!!  Let me know what you think of them..

Now on to the layouts, this is our son Ken after a not so good game.  He is the coach of the High School baseball team and lets just say it wasn't a great game!!

This next one is of my husband and oldest son.  The picture just reminded me of how much the two of them are actually alike.

It was a good week!

I got 4 layouts done this week and they all turned out pretty good I think.

This first one is not my style but I actually think it is my favorite this week.  It just worked, ha ha.  This is our Grandson Mikey wearing the mustache I put in his birthday card.  :)

And here is Mikey at his birthday dinner

Two of our Granddaughters Zoe and Delilah playing hula-hoop in their backyard on Easter day.  I would say this layout was a great use of scraps behind the two pictures buuuttttt.....I cut up a whole sheet of paper because I like how it matched the pictures.

And last but not least a layout of my "new" used car.  Not sure why but I don't really like how this one turned out.  I think because it looked way different in my head than what it turned out to be.

Crankin 'em out!!

Do you believe it, I got three more layouts done this week.  I have to admit I still don't get as many done as Tara but she is just a machine.  :)

This first one is a letter I got in the mail from our Grand Daughter Zoe.  We don't live that far apart (only about and hour drive) but we like to send each other letters.  I love getting mail from her.  I copied her letter and shrunk it down so I could put the whole thing on the layout.  Her original is still in the envelope.

This is our Grand Son Matthew.  No matter where he starts out on the bed, he ALWAYS ends up in the crack between the mattresses or between his mattress and the wall, whichever is convenient.  Got the idea of hanging those little stars on the white threads from a wall decor layout that Kylie made awhile ago.

Had alot of scraps left from a old SEI pack that I wanted to use up so I put together this layout.  Used the only 12x12 paper I had left in the package for the base and the rest is scraps!!  Pretty simple layout but find that alot of times simple is good!!

Layout Share Time!!

Here are the layouts that I finished this week.  It's been very hot so I managed to get more scrapbooking done rather than go outdoors.

This first one is our Grand Daughter Zoe on her 9th birthday.  Everything on this layout was cut with my cricut using the CTMH cartridges.

This layout I challenged myself to use the CTMH stamp sets that have the matching cartridge to cut out with the cricut.  The arrows and notebook paper were completed that way.  (Even though I forgot about the matching sizes and made my notebook paper cut out bigger than the matching stamp so it turned our a little wonky!)

This two page layout I copied from the current CTMH catalogue.  (I think the layout I copied was done on their digital program but I don't use digital so this is my version).

And last but not least, a layout of our annual trip to the Super Bowl party at New York, New York Casino in Las Vegas. Used a CTMH stamp set for the title and row of embellishments along the bottom.  The top border I cut from the advertisement for the party.  (Did you notice that the top and bottom border strips are actually a collage of all our losing tickets from bets made on the Super Bowl?)
