Well, my mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Ontario Scrapbook Expo and as a bonus I managed to get 5 layouts done. Didn't set any records or anything but considering we took classes, shopped, cropped, hung out and had a great time I think 5 layouts is good for me! Here they are:

What???? October already!!
Well, here it is, October and I have ONE measly layout to share that I finished in September. I am currently working on getting my scrappy mojo back and I am sure that a trip to the Ontario Scrapbook Expo with my Mom next week will do the trick!! Hopefully when we return I will have a TON of layouts to share.

Wow, It's August!!
I can't believe it is August already, man where does the time go??? Anyhow, here is the last layout I got done in July, didn't get a whole lot of layouts done this month but a few is better than none!! I am hoping to get 2013 done and move on to 2014 this month, ha ha
Here is a simple layout of my Grandson Noah and his dog Charley dressed up for ugly sweater day!

One more to share
I have had plenty of time to scrap but have only gotten one layout done since the last time I posted. Have another one on my desk but just haven't got it finished yet.
Got pretty messy with this one and I really like how it turned out.

4th of July weekend
I know this first picture has absolutely nothing to do with scrapbooking but I just had to share this picture of what I got to do at my brother and sister-in-law's house on the 4th of July. I guess it does have something to do with scrapbooking, it's a picture so I will scrap it in the future, ha ha
Here are a few cards I finished up after taking a class at the Scrapbook Expo:
And last but not least, I finally decorated the cover of my Art Journal since it now sits out on a bookshelf in the living/dining room.

Expo Layouts
I got 3 layouts done and was at the Scrapbook Expo for three days, guess that averages out to be one layout a day, ha ha. It doesn't seem like much but I think that's pretty good considering we had to squeeze in time to do make and takes, shop, eat, shop, make our expo mini books, shop, take 3 classes, and complete these 3 layouts!! I had a great weekend with my Mom and am already looking forward to our next one!

Two done...so far!
Well, I got two layouts finished today and am thinking I still might get one more done before I call it a day.
This first one was pretty simple but I really like how it turned out, kind of dark but was trying to match with the pictures.
This first one was pretty simple but I really like how it turned out, kind of dark but was trying to match with the pictures.
I titled this one Reality Noted because I always see layouts done with family photos that always look so nice where everyone is dressed appropriately, the backgrounds look nice and there are pretty smiles all around when in reality, this is our family most of the time!!

Old and New
Yep, something old and something new! For these two layouts I stuck with my OLD tried and true method of clean and linear block style, with a twist. For this first layout I printed out Sandee's bar lettering example sheet and gave it a try adding some of it to the title of this page.
On this second layout I stamped the little crafty woman and attempted to color and shade with my copics. Let's just say my shading techniques have a long, long, long way to go!!
And finally, I made Easter cards for my Grandkids this year!!! A little stamping, alot of cutting out, some punches and even more practice using my Copics and ta dah, 7 Easter cards complete.

Got a Little Messy
My Grandson Mikey and Daughter-In-Law Denise. They are quite a pair!! Got back in my scrappy room and made a big mess doing this layout, but had fun and now am ready to do a clean and linear page next!! One can only handle a messy layout every once in awhile, then I have to get "cleaned up" LOL

It's about time!
Yea, it has been awhile since my last post. Haven't got a whole lot of scrapping done, I seem to have misplaced my scrappy mojo!!! Have no fear, I am sure I will find it, might have to clean-up/reorganize my scrap room but I know it's in there somewhere. That being said, here are three layouts I have completed since last month (yes, only three). None of them scream WOW but I do like how they turned out.

Layout Share Time
Here are a few layouts I got done this week. Used some flowers some bling, even cut out some flowers from some matching pattern paper. I really like how the last one turned out even though there are no pictures on it!

Pink, Pink and more Pink!!
I did this layout to enter into the Frosted Designs February Kit Challenge. Went WAY OUT of my clean and linear box and created this layout of my Mom. I used two colors of distress ink, the color pink (everywhere, lol) and wood veneer. Believe it or not the flowers were white when I started and the little hearts and the word cherish were wood veneer pieces, I colored them all with the distress inks from the kit. I really like how it turned out.
And since I was already pretty messy...I did a page in my art journal before I cleaned up. Pretty simple page but I learned a few important things I thought I would share in case any of you are in the learning process like me:
1. Let each layer dry THOROUGHLY before you go on to the next one. This step is not for people like me that want to "get 'er done"!
2. What you think is a huge mistake and you are trying to figure out how to rip the page out of your book without the whole thing coming apart, DON'T, it CAN be covered up!!
3. Do not attempt to draw a tree like "Sandy" does because she makes it look so easy. It's not!! This is what created rule #2!!

Love of Linear
Yes, it's fun to get messy but I must admit, I am a true linear scrapbooker and am finding that when I stick to that style my pages seem to "flow". I am definately a linear scrapbooker at heart (with a messy layout or art journal page thrown in for good measure)!
This two page layout is my Mom and I. We have sooooo much fun together at the Scrapbook Expo. As soon as it is over and we get unpacked we are already looking forward to the next one!!!
I used an old (I am mean OLD) Basic Gray paper pack to complete this layout along with some CTMH stamps (trying to use things I have that just never get used).

Art Journal Fun
So I have been watching these videos on messy fun called Sundays with Sandee over at Frosted Designs. Every Sunday I sit down and watch her videos and then go to my scrap room and do a page in my art journal. It isn't scrapping but it gets me thinking outside the box and I get to play with all the paint, mists, water brushes, watercolor crayons, etc, etc, that I don't really use on my scrapbook pages. For some reason I really have fun getting messy and creative in my art journal but still like my scrapbook layouts somewhat clean and linear (yes, I rather enjoy using my ruler, ha ha)
Anyhow, with all that said, here is my page from this Sunday's video:

Polka Dots and Selfies
This first layout I did because of a challenge over at Frosted Designs to use polka dots. I used them four ways!! Big polka dot patterned paper, polka dot chevron paper, stamped some polka dots on the scalloped borders and used a polka dot ribbon!! NAILED IT, lol
This next one is a two pager of our Daughter Steffanie and all the "selfies" she took and updated her profile picture on facebook. Everytime she updated her picture I downloaded and printed it. (Hey Mom, I think this is the same SEI paper pack you used for you office layout)

First Layout Share of 2014
Yep, it's already almost the end of January and I am just now updating my blog for the first time in 2014. Hopefully it won't be so long until my next update. Got three layouts done although in all honesty two of them were completed at the end of last year. So far I have completed 1 layout this year. :( Oh well, at least I am back in my scrap room and on a roll!!!
